It's the festive season, and you still want to keep fit, great! This workout a can be done in an gym or at home. Some exercises are optional to either add or take away equipment to suit your environment.
This workout is all done to time, so regardless of fitness levels, do what you can in the time given! The fitter you are the more rounds you can do! Our aims are to work the whole body to a high intensity whilst keeping the heart rate high.
Each exercise in a given Tabata workout lasts only four minutes, but it's likely to be one of the longest four minutes you've ever endured. The structure of the program is as follows:
You push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds. This is one set. You'll need to complete eight sets of each exercise.
- Beginners try 2 exercises
- Intermediate level try 3 exercises
- Expert level try 4 exercises

Tabata is great to get a quick workout in if you're short on time, you need to switch up your routine, or you want improve endurance and speed. Incorporate this type of workout into your fitness routine over Christmas and burn some calories!
