Wether it be a full on 6 pack or just a toned stomach, we all want to know the secret to getting abs. Lets unleash some of them… Secret Number 1. Abs Start In The Kitchen! Surprised? You shouldn't be. Think about it, as we know unhealthy foods and drinks make us put on weight and mostly in our unwanted areas. Women tend to store a lot of their unwanted weight around their bum and thighs and men store their extra body fat around the stomach. Therefore, eating clean and cutting out the unhealthy foods will reduce the body fat around all these areas meaning your abdominal muscles will become more visible! So no matter how many crunches, sit ups or Russian twists you do, if you're not watching your diet, you're going to find it very hard to get a toned stomach! Secret Number 2. Burn Calories! Doing exercises like crunches and sit ups will strengthen the stomach muscles underneath the existing body fat, so in order to make them more visible you need to burn calories to drop your body fat percentage! Cardiovascular training, whichever way works best for you: treadmill, bike, cross trainer even boxing will contribute to getting those abs. Although it would be nice, you cant focus on just getting rid of weight around your stomach, it will come off from all over your body. Gradually the lower your body fat reduces, the abdomen will become more toned. Doing this alongside a healthy diet will speed up results as nutrition is one of the most important factors in trying to tone up. Secret Number 3. Include Weighted Ab Exercises! If you want your biceps to grow what do you do? Pick up a dumbbell and curl it right? Abs have the same principle, if you want them to grow then you can add weight to your exercises! The benefits of this is that like most exercises, when your normal routine becomes slightly easy, instead of doing 1000 crunches each gym session, adding in some weighted ab exercises can increase the intensity. Using these types of exercises will give the muscles a fuller appearance which always looks aesthetically pleasing. Secret Number 4. Work On Your Core! Core work will not only work your stomach, it will work your obliques, lower back and many deep muscles too. The reason why this will help get a flatter stomach is that it acts as a corset. As strength improves, it gradually tightens your mid section and all the deep muscles become tighter, which pulls in your stomach. Working on your core will also help any lower back pain, improve posture and also benefit you in everyday life and the gym. Have a look at the diagram below to understand some of the deeper core muscles. Thank you for reading! Any other questions about diet ideas contact me!
